EGR Downstream Temperature Sensor Dynamic Plausibility CheckThe EGR Downstream temperature sensor rationality test checks to make sure that the sensor is not stuck in arange that causes other OBD to be disabled. If after a long (8 hour) soak and ECT < 70 o C, then the temp at start iscompared to the temp after a calibrated elapsed runtime. If the change in temperature downstream of the EGRcooler is below the minimum calibrated threshold (5 o C), then the sensor is assumed to be stuck in range.EGR Downstream Temperature Sensor Dynamic Plausibility Check Operation:DTCsMonitor executionMonitor SequenceMonitoring Duration for stuck midrangeP040B – EGR Temperature Sensor "A" CircuitRange/PerformanceOnce per driving cycleNone0.5 seconds to register a malfunctionTypical EGR Downstream Temperature Sensor Dynamic Plausibility check entry conditions:Entry Condition Minimum MaximumEngine-off time (soak time)480 minEngine run timer300 secEngine Coolant Temperature70 o CEngine Coolant Temperature at Start70 o CEngine Speed 1000 rpm 3000 rpmEngine Torque 100 N-m 300 N-mEGR Valve Positions (Actual) 10% 60%Typical EGR Downstream Temperature Sensor Plausibility check malfunction thresholds:TEGRDs (at 300 sec) – TEGRDs (at Start) < dtMinDyn (5 o C) then sensor is stuck in range.FORD MOTOR COMPANY REVISION DATE: FEBRUARY 9, 2012 09.01.00.02-PAGE 87 OF 157
