Reverting ValveIn order to reverse the reductant flow direction (for line purge) a 4-2-way valve (reverting valve) needs to beswitched. The valve is switched by a solenoid.Reverting valveSolenoidFilterPumpReverting Valve Circuit Check Operation:DTCsMonitor executionMonitor SequenceSensors OKMonitoring DurationP20A0 – Reductant Purge Control Valve Circuit / OpenP20A3 – Reductant Purge Control Valve Circuit HighP20A2 – Reductant Purge Control Valve Circuit LowContinuous – Open and Low with driver off / High with driver onnonenone2 seconds to register a malfunctionTypical Reverting Valve Circuit Check Malfunction Thresholds:Fault is determined by power stage driver.P20A0 – Reductant Purge Control Valve Circuit / Open - < 5.80 voltsP20A3 – Reductant Purge Control Valve Circuit High - > 2.20 ampsP20A2 – Reductant Purge Control Valve Circuit Low - < 3.50 voltsFORD MOTOR COMPANY REVISION DATE: FEBRUARY 9, 2012 09.01.00.02-PAGE 124 OF 157
The reverting valve functional check monitors the pressure drop when the purge cycle is started. To run this testthe pressure level must exceed a calibration threshold (280 kPa) at beginning of test. For a successful test result, the pressure must drop by another threshold (230 kPa) within the time.If the test is not successfully passed the purge cycle will be terminated immediately because of the risk ofuncontrolled injection of reductant into the exhaust pipe.Reverting Valve Functional Check Operation:DTCsMonitor executionMonitor SequenceSensors/Actuators OKMonitoring DurationP20A1 - Reductant Purge Control Valve PerformancecontinuousP20A1 is inhibited by active P20A0 , P20A3 or P20A2reductant pump pressure sensor, reductant injector, reductantpump motor5 sec for fault detectionTypical Reverting Valve Functional Check Malfunction Thresholds:P20A1: initial pressure > 280 kPaMin. pressure drop < 230 kPa errorFORD MOTOR COMPANY REVISION DATE: FEBRUARY 9, 2012 09.01.00.02-PAGE 125 OF 157
