Reductant Pump Motor Functional CheckThe functional check monitors the Pump Motor Speed Deviation. This test is run if the commanded pump speed iswithin normal operating range, i.e. duty cycle 6.5 to 80 %. In this test if the internal RPM measurement of theReductant Pump Motor speed is not matching the commanded speed within a certain percentage, a fault isdetected and the system is shut down for this key cycle.Reductant Pump Motor Control (Normal) Functional Check Operation:DTCsMonitor executionMonitor SequenceSensors/Actuators OKMonitoring DurationP208B – Reductant Pump Control Range/PerformancecontinuousP208A , P208C, P208D must completeReductant pump pressure sensor, Reductant injector5 sec for fault detectionTypical Reductant Pump Motor Control (Normal) Functional Check Malfunction Thresholds:P208B: > 300 RPM errorReductant Dosing Valve (Injector)The reductant dosing valve is used to meter and atomize the reductant liquid before it is mixed with the exhaustgas. Normal operating frequency is between 3 Hz and .3 Hz. The cooling body contains heat sink fins to keep theinjector and reductant below the boiling point. If the sensed temperature is nearing the maximum temperaturethreshold, reductant spray will be increased in quantity to actively cool the valve.FORD MOTOR COMPANY REVISION DATE: FEBRUARY 9, 2012 09.01.00.02-PAGE 121 OF 157
