this, the insurer shall sign an agreement with other Insurers so thatbeneficiaries can get seamless access of health care services acrossIndia.9. Payment of Premium:State Government/ Nodal Agency will, on behalf of the BPL and othernon-BPL (if applicable) beneficiaries, make the payment of thepremium to the Insurance Company based on the enrolment of theBPL and other non-BPL beneficiaries (if applicable) and delivery ofsmart cards to them. The Central Government, on receipt of thisinformation, and enrolment data from the State Government/ NodalAgency in the prescribed format, shall release its share of premium.10. Payment of Premium and Registration Fee:Payment of registration fee and premium installment will be as follows:a) First installment of premium of Rs.30 shall be paid by the beneficiary,at the time of enrollment and delivery of smart card or at the time ofrenewal as the case may be, as registration fee to the InsuranceCompany.b) Second installment shall be paid by the State Nodal Agency to theinsurance company within 15 working days of the receipt of all thenecessary documents, in the prescribed format, and any otherinformation and compliance from the Insurance Company. Theinstallment will be in the nature of 10% of (X-60)-30.(X being the premium amount per family).c) Third installment shall be paid by the State Nodal Agency on thereceipt of the share of the Central Government as per the followingformula:90% of (X-60)+60(Subject to a maximum of Rs. 565/- + Rs. 60/-)This amount shall be paid within 45 working days of receipt ofnecessary documents from the insurance company as mentionedabove.{Any amount beyond the contribution by the Central Government will beborne by the State Government.}Note:1. It will be the responsibility of the State Government to ensure that thepremium to the Insurance Company is paid according to the schedulementioned above to ensure adherence to compliance of 64 VB of the13

However, the insurance coverage under the scheme shall be in force fora period of one year from the date of commencement of the policy.a. In the districts where scheme is starting for the first time, a BPLfamily or other non-BPL identified beneficiaries (if applicable) whois issued smart card will be able to avail facilities from the [Date ofStart of the Policy]. All cards issued in the district shall have thesame Policy beginning and end date as the 1 st card.11.3. The commencement and policy period may be determined for eachDistrict separately depending upon the start of the issue of smartcards in that particular District.11.4. In the districts where the scheme is starting for the first time,the Scheme shall commence operation from the 1 st of the succeedingmonth in which the smart card is issued. Thus, for example, if theinitial smart cards are issued anytime during the month of October ina particular district the scheme will commence from 1 st of November.The scheme will last for one year till 31 st October next year. Thiswould be the terminal date of the scheme in that particular district.However, in the same example, if the card is issued in the month ofNovember, December and January then the insurance willimmediately start from the next day itself for the beneficiaries andpolicy will be over on 31 st October next year. Thus, all cards issued inthe district in November will also have the Policy start date as 1 st ofNovember (even if issued subsequent to the date) and terminal date as31 st October the following year.
