EXAMPLES OF A SALE Liquor supplied at a function where an “entry fee” is charged to a personattending. Where a limousine is hired out and includes liquor as part of the cost. Where a glass of champagne is offered (free or otherwise) as part of aservice being provided.APPROVALS / NOTIFICATIONS / BOOKINGSShire ApprovalYou need Shire approval to consume alcohol in a facility or on land owned ormanaged by the Shire of Mundaring (whether you are providing or selling thealcohol). To gain this approval you will need to complete an ‘Approval toConsume Alcohol’ form.Please note Shire approval is a prerequisite for Liquor Licence applications.Liquor LicenceIf you plan to sell alcohol you will need approval through the Department ofRacing, Gaming and Liquor.PoliceThe local Police station should be notified for any events where alcohol is to beconsumed.TIME FRAMESelling Liquor28 days prior – submit ‘Approval to Consume Alcohol’ form to Shire – (prerequisitefor above and must be submitted first).14 days prior – for events up to 500 people Occasional Liquor Licence applicationto be lodged with the Department of Racing Gaming & Liquor. Note, for eventsover 500 people, the form must be lodged 30 days prior (and Shire approval 28days before this date).Providing Liquor (not selling)14 days prior – submit Shire of Mundaring ‘Approval to Consume Alcohol’.FEESLiquor LicenseThe fee for an Occasional Licence is determined by the number of peopleexpected to attend the event, for example $35 for up to 250 people, $80 for251-500 people and so on.Shire ApprovalNo charge.
