Vocabulary Focus …… <strong>The</strong> 10 words you’ll focus on will all be adjectives. Of the 37words we studied, 21 are adjectives. Select 10 of those 21 thatyou’d like to study. In addition, you should knowenough about the characters to be able to visualize what they looklike, so you can select current celebrities to play the parts.3. Persuade people to visit. Write down allthe positive things about the Capitol that you can remember (anduse the book).7. Compare/Contrast ……Gather as much information about Panem that you can, includingthe type of government, punishments, laws, etc. <strong>The</strong>n, think aboutour U.S. society today. How are the two similar? How are theydifferent?8. Creative Story ………… You will be correctly using all nine of the verbs, and then six otherwords of your choosing, in a 2-page imaginative story. Plan yourstory and choose your words.9. Character Focus ………Begin recalling and finding as much information about Katniss asyou can. What does she look like? What are her strengths?Weaknesses? Opinions? What is her family like? What do heractions in the arena say about her as a person?
