The procedures to per<strong>for</strong>m this retr<strong>of</strong>itting are explained below. If the<br />

ODS refrigerant replacement is being per<strong>for</strong>med with the use <strong>of</strong> a “dropin”<br />

refrigerant, some <strong>of</strong> the steps presented may not be necessary. It is<br />

important always to consult the refrigerant manufacturer’s guidelines <strong>for</strong><br />

retr<strong>of</strong>itting and the use <strong>of</strong> “drop-in” refrigerants. The retr<strong>of</strong>it to flammable<br />

refrigerants (such as hydrocarbons) must be executed taking into<br />

considerations safety aspects.<br />
