Sangh Sútra is a collection of the
prayers (prārthana/mantra) and
songs (geet) that we learn during
Sangh Shiksha Varg. The
material has been provided in
this form so that we may follow
the prayers as we hear and
recite them, helping us to learn
to sing them ourselves. We
should be familiar with all of this
material by the end of Sangh
Shiksha Varg, so that we can
teach others when we return to
our shakhas.
Each of the prārthana and geet
has their meaning, as well as the
text in Hindi, next to them. Try to
make use of this by learning the
meaning of as many as you can.
You may also practice reading
Hindi by taking lessons in the
bauddhik vishesh varg and using
this booklet.

Lord, you are the giver of life, the remover of pain and
misery, and the source of happiness. May You, creator of
the Universe, guide our intellect in the right direction.

namo’stu paramātmane नमो|�तु परमा�मने
jyotirmayasvarūpāya
�योितम�य�व�पाय
viśwamāngalyamūrtaye

Aum, I bow to the Supreme Lord, who is the very form of
Truth, Consciousness and Bliss; an infinite, expansive
blaze of light and the very image of universal good.
prakrutiḥ pañca bhūtāni �कृ ित: प�च भूतािन
grahā lokā swarāstathā �हा लोका �वरा�तथा
diśaḥ kālaśca sarveṣām
�दश: काल� सव�षां
sadā kurvantu mangalam
सदा कु व��तु मंगलम ्
May nature, composed of the: three qualities, (Sat, Rajas
and Tamas); five elements (fire, water, air, earth and
space); nine planets and fourteen worlds; seven notes of
music with all their variations; ten directions and time
(past, present and future), cause perpetual good to us.

himālayakirītinīṃ
brahmarājarṣiratnādḥyāṃ
vande bhāratamātaram
र�ाकराधौतपदां
�हमालय�कर��टनीम ् ।
��राज�ष�र�ा�यां
व�दे भारतमातरम ् ॥
Our salutations to Bharat Mata whose feet are being
washed by the waves of the Indian ocean, who is crowned
by the snowy Himalayas, whose illustrious children
include distinguished sages that have attained
enlightenment and led the nation.
īśāvāsyamidaṃ sarvaṃ
yatkiñca jagatyāṃ jagat
tena tyaktena bhuñjīthāḥ
mā grdhaḥ kasyasviddhanam
ईशावा�यिमदं सव�
य��क�च जग�यां जगत ्
तेन �य�े न भु�जीथाः
मा गृध: क�य��व�नम ्
The entire universe consists of the Supreme Lord present
within nature that has existed since the beginning of time.
That Almighty alone is therefore independent - without a
beginning and without an end. Due to this quality, do not
lust for others’ wealth. Instead enjoy whatever is given to
you by the Lord, and realise the Self by passive awareness
and renunciation.

asato mā sadgamaya
tamaso mā jyotirgamaya
mrityormā’mrataṃ gamaya
असतो मा स� गमय
तमसो मा �योितग�मय
मृ�योमा�|मृतं गमय
Almighty, lead me from the untruth to the truth. Lead me
from darkness to light. Lead me from death to immortality.
sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ
sarve santu nirāmayāḥ
sarve bhadrāņi paśyantu
mā kascit duḥkhabhāg bhavet
सव� भव�तु सु�खन:
सव� स�तु िनरामया:
सव� भ�ा�ण प�य�तु
मा क��त ् दुःखभाग ् भवेत ्
Let all be happy. Let all be healthy. Let all see the good in
others. Let no one suffer from unhappiness.

pūrņamadaḥ pūrņamidaṃ
pūrņātpūrņamudacyate
pūrņasya pūrņamādāya
pūrņamevāvaśiṣyate
पूण�मद: पूण�िमदं
पूणा��पूण�मुद�यते ।
पूण��य पूण�मादाय
पूण�मेवाविश�यते ॥
That (Absolute Brahman that is me) is infinite. This
(Manifested Brahman that is the Universe) is also infinite.
From infinity comes infinity. Infinity subtracted from
infinity, still leaves infinity.
ॐ saṃgacchadhwaṃ saṃvadadhwaṃ
saṃ vo manāṃsi jānatām
devā bhāgaṃ yathā pūrve
sañjānānā upāsate
ॐ संग�छ�वं संवद�वं
सं वो मनांिस जानताम ्
देवा भागं यथा पूव�
स�जानाना उपासते
May you move in harmony, speak in one voice; let your
minds be in agreement; just as the ancient gods shared
their portion of sacrifice.

samāno mantraḥ samitih samānī
samānaṃ manaḥ sahacittameṣām
samānaṃ mantramabhimantraye vaḥ
samānena vo haviṣā juhomi
समानो म��: सिमित: समानी
समानं मन: सहिच�मेषाम ्
समानं म��मिभम��ये व:
समानेन वो ह�वषा जुहोिम ॥
May our purpose be the same; may we all be of one mind.
In order for such unity to form I offer a common prayer.
samanī va ākūtiḥ समानी व आकू ित:
samānā hrdayāni vaḥ
समाना �दयािन व: ।
samānamastu vo mano
yathā vaḥ susahāsati समानम�तु वो मनो
यथा व: सुसहासित ॥
May our intentions and aspirations be alike, so that a
common objective unifies us all.

hadraṃ karṇebhiḥ śrūṇuyāma devāḥ
bhadraṃ paśyemākśabhiryajatrāḥ
sthirairaṃgaistuṣţuvāmsastanūbhiḥ
vyaśema devahitaṃ yadāyuḥ
भ�ं कण�िभ: शृणुयाम देवा:
भ�ं प�येमा�िभय�ज�ा:
��थरैरंगै�तु�ुवांस�तनूिभ:
�यशेम देव�हतं यदायु:
O Lord, with our ears may we hear what is blessed and
with our eyes see what is auspicious. May we, the devotees
with perfect limbs and bodies, enjoy the long lease of life
granted by God.
na tvahaṃ kāmaye rājyaṃ
na svargaṃ nāpunarbhavam
kāmaye duḥkha taptānām
prāṇināmārtināśanam
न �वहं कामये रा�यं
न �वग� नापुनभ�वम ् ॥
कामये दु:खत�ानां
�ा�णनामाित�नाशनम ् ॥
I do not desire for kingdom, heaven or end of rebirth. My
only desire is that all those beings which are afflicted by
misery be happy.

jīvane yāvadādānaṃ
syāt pradānaṃ tato’dhikam
ityeṣā prārthanāsmākaṃ
bhagavan paripūryatām
जीवने यावदादानं
�यात ् �दानं ततो|िधकम ्
इ�येषा �ाथ�ना�माकं
भगवन ् प�रपूय�ताम ्
The principle of giving more than we receive is the ideal
for life. O Lord we pray to You to fulfill this prayer of
ours.

ॐ शा��त: शा��त: शा��त: ।

Ekātmatā Mantra
yaṃ vaidikā mantradrśaḥ purāṇā
indraṃ yamaṃ mātariśvānamāhuḥ
vedāntino’nirvacanīyamekam
yaṃ brahma śabdena vinirdiśanti
यं वै�दका म���श: पुराणा
इ��ं यमं मात�र�ानमाहु:
वेदा��तनो|िनव�चनीयमेकम ्
यं ��श�देन �विन�द�श��त
There is only ONE: The scriptures and those
who knew the Vedas, to whom the mantras
were revealed, refer to as Indra (the King of the
Deities), Yama (the eternal and timeless God),
and consider as present everywhere like the air
and the Vedantis call as Brahma (one that
cannot be described or explained).
śaivā yamīśaṃ śiva ityavochan
yaṃ vaiṣṇavā viṣṇuriti stuvanti
buddhastathā’rhanniti bauddhajaināḥ
sat-shrī-akāleti ca sikkha santaḥ

शैवा यमीशं िशव इ�यवोचन ्
यं वै�णवा �व�णु�रित �तुव��त
बु��तथा|ह���नित बौ� जैना:
सत-�ी-अकालेित च िस�ख स�त:
The Shaivaites say Omnipotent Shiva,
Vaishnavas call Vishnu, Buddhists call Buddha,
Jains say Arhant, one without an end and Sikhs
as Sat Shri Akal, the timeless truth.
śāsteti kecit katicit kumāraḥ
swāmīti māteti piteti bhaktyā
yaṃ prārthayante jagadīśitāraṃ
sa eka eva prabhuradvitīyaḥ
शा�तेित के िचत ् कितिचत ् कु मार:
�वामीित मातेित �पतेित भ��या
यं �ाथ�य�ते जगद�िशतारं
स एक एव �भुर��तीय:
Some call him Shasta, others Kumar or Swami
(lord of the universe and protector of all) Mata
(divine mother) or Pita (father). All refer to the
same and only ONE who is without a second.

We bow to thee Mother Earth. The giver of all happiness,
the centre of all good things, the fulfiller of all our desires
and the refuge of all beings.
saccidānanda rūpāya
viśwa mangala hetave
viśwadharmaika mūlāya
namostu paramātmane
saiccadanaMd$paya
ivaSvamaMgalahotvao
ivaSvaQamaO-kmaUlaaya

We pay our respects to you, Oh Mighty God, you have the
knowledge and you give happiness. You are the giver and
the cause of all the goodness and you are the only source of
Dharma (righteousness), which embraces the whole world.

prabho sanghaţitā vayam
śubhāmāśişa-masmabhyam
dehi tat paripūrtaye
ivaSvaQama-ivakasaaqa-ma\

O God. We get together and organise ourselves for the
spread and development of Vishwa (universal) Dharma,
kindly bless us so that we can reach this goal.

ajayyam-ātma sāmarthyam
suśīlam lokapūjitam
jnānam ca dehi viśveśa
dhyeya mārga prakāśakam
Ajayyamaa%masaamaqya-ma\
sauSaIlaM laaokpUijatma\
&anaM ca doih ivaSvaoXa
Qyaoyamaaga-p`kaSakma\
O Lord of the Universe. Grant us unbeatable strength, self
confidence, good character worthy of respect by others and
the knowledge that will show us the path leading to the
achievement of our aim.

nihśreyasa samanvitah
tatsādhakam sphuratwantah
suvīravratamujvalam

We have undertaken a vow which is divine and worthy of
heroes. It aims at achieving our material and spiritual
prosperity. May this great vow always inspire our hearts to
fulfil it.

Let us have unwavering devotion to our ideal of organising
and uniting the society (Hindu) so that it is capable of
establishing world peace by following the universal

Let our victorious organised strength, protected by our
Dharma, be capable of achieving the supreme prosperity for

anna grahaṇa karane se pahale
vichāra mana me karanā hai
kisa hetu se isa śarīra kā
rakshaṇa poṣaṇa karanā hai
अ�न �हण करने से पहले
�वचार मन मे करना है
�कस हेतु से इस शर�र का
र�ण पोषण करना है
Before we take our food, we pause to think, for what
purpose should we nurture and protect our body.

nitya tumhāre charṇo meṃ
laga jāye tan man dhan merā
viśwa dharma kī sevā meṃ
हे परमे�र एक �ाथ�ना
िन�य तु�हारे चरणो म�
लग जाये तन मन धन मेरा

O God, grant us this prayer, for which I bow with
respect at your feet, that my body, mind and wealth be
put to use in the service of Universal Dharma.

Geet 1: Translation
Awaken Hindus, we have again been
challenged to protect the world from
danger.
We believe in a peaceful path, and accept
everyone as our brothers. The world,
however, has never supported the weak
The Hindus have never been lacking in
wealth, strength or character, and have
been second to none. Our aggrieved mind
has felt this throughout the ages.
In our veins runs the same blood as Shri
Ram, and the guidance of Shri Krishna (in
the form of the Bhagvad Gita) is forever
with us. The Dharma revealed to us by Shri
Rama and Shri Krishna is more valuable to
us than even life itself.
The message of Sangh should resonate in
each house, each village and each town.
This will ultimately bring peace to the
entire world.

Geet 2: Translation
The new era has arisen from its slumber as the spirit of
youthfulness has awoken. Hindu Dharma has risen to
it’s divine form
There is much false pride associated with caste,
language or other groups. Many groups have formed
out of their selfish interests. By awakening the feeling
of Hinduness, we can overcome all obstacles.
We have many diverse paths and philosophies -
separating them is not our way. One everlasting and
indivisible culture flows through all of these paths. The
true and eternal Dharma has come to an auspicious
time.
Science and technology have given our life many
comforts. Caught up in these luxuries we have
forgotten our duty and Dharma. Turning away from
selfishness, we consider all humanity as our brothers.
We have taken a great vow to dedicate our life to this
mission. By joining every individual to our heart, we
shall build a great strength. The respect of Hindu
Dharma in the world is high as the Bhagwa Dhwaj.

Geet 3: Translation
Keep going, keep going this is our
mantra. Never stopping and never tiring,
we keep steadfastly moving forward.
Our inspiration is the sun, whose chariot
moves steadfastly. It has been dutybound
through the ages, yet it has an
everlasting intense energy. Movement is
my Dharma, going from place to place.
Our inspiration is Shri Guruji, on whose
path we are to tread. All Hindus are
brothers – we have to tell this to the
world. We should remember the great
deeds of Shri Guruji and give more time
to his mission
Our inspiration is the Bharat, the land we
worship. It is the source of many good
things and a constant source of love. We
should make our life worthwhile by living
for this mother of ours.
