Specific wildlife habitats of concern may include areas where speciesconcentrate at a vulnerable point in their annual or life cycle; and areas which areimportant to migratory or non-migratory species.9.20.56 Woodland: for the purpose of identifying woodlands, including studies to determinesignificant woodlands, the following definition taken from the Forestry Act should beused: "woodlands" means land with at least:(a) 1,000 trees, of any size, per hectare,(b) 750 trees, measuring over five centimetres in diameter, per hectare,(c) 500 trees, measuring over 12 centimetres in diameter, per hectare, or(d) 250 trees, measuring over 20 centimetres in diameter, per hectare, but does notinclude a cultivated fruit or nut orchard or a plantation established for the purposeof producing Christmas trees.
