Drill a 1/2" (13 mm) hole through the roofing surface.Do not drill into the wood! Use the 1/4" (6 mm) bit and drill a hole of the depthdetermined above. Clean off shavings. Use a caulking gun and fill the hole with appropriatesealant. When installing the hanger bolt, note the sequence ofthe individual parts (Fig. 20). Install the stud (Fig. 20, [5]) as far as it will go into theattachment block (Fig. 20, [1]). Screw the preassembled hanger bolt into the roofusing a size 15 wrench according to the measureddepth of the hole. Tighten the attachment block and turn horizontally.
