So, that the facilitiesunder those schemes are available to the neo-literates.The Post-Literacy centres ensured that the community is fully involved inplanning <strong>and</strong> implementation of the Post-Literacy programmes, the ultimateobjectives being to organize the unorganized.In the Post-Literacy centres, where Volunteers will act as a guide to helpthe neo-literate to complete PL-I in about 40 instructional hours.Need of Co-operation <strong>and</strong> Support from GB/PanchayatAs we are implementing PLP, we need co-operation <strong>and</strong> support fromthe GB/PRI. The GB’s <strong>and</strong> Panchayat members have great role inimplementing the programme. For the social mobilization, aware of the fact ofthe literacy, enrolled Volunteers, to supervise <strong>and</strong> monitor the programme.It is essential that the learners <strong>and</strong> community participate actively in thePLP activities. Community involvement is not possible individually; thecommunity rather participates in the <strong>for</strong>m of groups. There<strong>for</strong>e, <strong>for</strong>mation ofgroup is essential <strong>for</strong> the successful implementation of programmes. So, theGB/PRI’s active participation is highly needed.
