Hand Book for Gaon Burahs and Panchayati Raj Leader

iiHence in order to bring all the developmental agencies and theGB/PRIs together and to understand each other in a better way conference ofGB/PRI and Developmental agencies was convened in Namsai on 9 th October2006 which was attended by more than 500 participants from far flungvillages. This handbook is outcome of the various deliberations made duringthis conference. Another such conference was conducted at Tezu in May2007.I request all the Gaon Buras, Panchayat leaders and especially theElected Women Representatives and the Developmental agencies to joinhands together and work hard to ensure that the fruits of the developmentreach to the poorest of the poor staying in remote villages of ArunachalPradesh. Let us make a slogan……Chalo Gaon Ki Aur ……..Let’s go tovillages!At this juncture, I will fail in my duties if I don’t express my sincere thanksto all the Heads of the developmental departments who worked hard andcontributed towards development of this handbook. My sincere thanks to Shri.Rajen Kumar Sharma, ADC Namsai, Shri Abu Tayeng, the then ADC Tezu,Shri Mito Dirchi, EAC Mahadevpur and the entire team who worked on theediting of the handbook.Mrs Jarjum Ete, Chairperson, State Commission for Women is the greatadvocate of decentralization of power and in fact she insisted that ourhandbook should be restructured for the greater interest of the womenPanchayat members.
