1194. Where to file a complaint?Under C.P. Act, Govt. has established a three-tier judicial institution.These are “District Forum”, functioning in Districts, “State Commission”,functioning in the State Capital <strong>and</strong> “National Commission”, functioningin National Capital.(a) Consumer complaints with financial involvement upto 20 lakh aredealt in District Forum. In Arunachal Pradesh, the DeputyCommissioner is the head of the District Forum.(b)(c)Consumer Complaints with financial involvement more than 20 lakhbut upto Rs. 1 (one) crore are dealt in State Commission.Consumer complaint with financial involvement beyond Rs. 1 (one)crore are dealt in National Commission.Besides, appeal lies against the order of District Forum to StateCommission <strong>and</strong> against the order of the State Commission to NationalCommission.5. What are the reliefs available under Consumer Protection Act?Depending upon the nature of relief sought by the consumer <strong>and</strong> facts,the redressal <strong>for</strong>um any give order <strong>for</strong> one or more of the followingreliefs:-(a) Removal of defects from the goods(b) Replacement of the goods(c) Refund of the price paid, OR(d) Award of compensation <strong>for</strong> the loss or injury suffered.As GB <strong>and</strong> PRI you are required to create awareness on the ConsumerAffairs amongst the villagers so that the poor <strong>and</strong> ignorant villagers arenot cheated.
