110CHAPTER – XXIVROLE OF PANCHAYATS AND GAON BURAHS IN PREPERATION OFELECTORAL ROLLS(DURING INTENSIVE REVISION SUMMARY REVISION OF ELECTORALROLL AND ELECTORS PHOTO IDENTITY CARD PROGRAMME)(A) SUMMARY REVISION OF ELECTORAL ROLL :-1. To give wide publicity of the programme to all villagers.2. To inspect the Draft Electoral Roll whether the names of all persons oftheir villages have been enrolled.3. To inspect whether correct names/father’s name/relationship <strong>and</strong> age ofthe voters have been printed correctly in the Electoral roll.4. To inspect whether dead <strong>and</strong> underage voters have been enrolled inelectoral roll <strong>and</strong> if so, the matter should be reported to the ElectoralRegistration Officer/ Asstt. Electoral Registration Officer/ DesignatedOfficers within the time given <strong>for</strong> lodging claims/objections.5. To ensure that only the names of the villagers of concerned village/ areas appended in the Electoral Roll.6. To ensure to be present himself during hearing of claims/objections bythe Electoral Registration Officer/Asstt. Electoral Registration Officer toidentify the claimants/objectors.7. If any error found in Draft Electoral Roll the same should be reported tothe Electoral Registration Officer/Asstt. Electoral Registration Officer orthe District Election Officer <strong>for</strong> necessary rectification.8. To in<strong>for</strong>m villagers to submit claims application to the Designated Officersif any name have been omitted in the Draft Electoral Roll or if any bodyhave attained the qualifying ageof 18 years.9. To in<strong>for</strong>m villagers to submit application to Designated Officers if theirnames/father’s name/relationship/age have been printed wrongly in DraftElectoral Rolls.(B) PROGRAMME FOR ELECTORS PHOTO IDENTITY CARD:-1. To give wide publicity about the date, time, <strong>and</strong> place of photography toall the voters of their concerned villages whose Photo Identity Card hasnot yet been prepared/lost etc.2. To render cooperation to the photography team deputed by the DistrictElection Officer/Electoral Registration Officer.3. To ensure that no person other than whose names has been printed inthe Final Electoral Roll are photographed.4. To ensure that no underage voters have been photographed5. To ensure that only the left out voters are being photographed.6. To ensure that all voters of the respective villages have been explainedabout the importance of the Photo Identity Card <strong>and</strong> its preservation.7. To ensure to be present themselves during photography to identify thegenuine voters.
