6SAMPLE APPOINTMENT ORDER FOR GBIn exercise of the powers confirmed under Sub-Section (I) ofSection 5 of the Assam Frontier (Administration of Justice) (Regulation 1 of1945) I, ……….Deputy Commissioner, …….. The above appointment does not confer any right on the incumbent toclaim any remuneration whatsoever, and this appointment is liable to becancelled at any time without assigning any reason.02. The Gaon Burah (Village Authority) shall watch and report on anyvagrant or any bad or conspicuous character found within his jurisdiction,and apprehend any such person if there have reasonable grounds forsuspecting that he has committed or is about to commit an offence andshall handover any person so apprehended to the DeputyCommissioner/ Additional Deputy Commissioner or any AdministrativeOfficer.03. It shall be the duty of the Gaon Burah to report the DeputyCommissioner / Additional Deputy Commissioner or any AdministrationOfficer as soon as possible all crimes, violent death and serious accidentoccurring within their jurisdiction and all occurrence whether within orbeyond their jurisdiction which may come to his/her knowledge andwhich are likely to affect the public peace, and to apprehend and deliveroffenders as soon as may be (within a period of 24 hours of suchapprehension excluding the time necessary for the journey from theplace of apprehension) to the court having jurisdiction to trial them.04. The Gaon Burah has no right to participate in any agitationalprogrammes against the Government.05. It shall also be the duty of the Gaon Burah to co-operate with thePanchayat Members and Govt. Officials in implementation of variousdevelopment programmes in their jurisdiction.06. The Gaon Burah shall be bound to assist the District Administration onNational and State Occasions, VIP visits, meeting and all other importantevents as and when called upon, and will also act as a liaison betweenthe Government and the villagers.Appointment made and given under the signature and seal of the DeputyCommissioner, …… District on this day _______ of November’2006.Sd/Deputy Commissioner………..
