4. HarvestThe water pump de-energizes and the water inletvalve energizes to assist harvest and refill the watersump. The hot gas valve opens and the refrigerant gaswarms the evaporator allowing the cubes to releasefrom the evaporator and drop into the storage bin.The control system automatically determines:• Length of time the ice machine will remain in theharvest cycle• Whether the condenser fan motor is energized orde-energized during the harvest cycleAt the end of the harvest cycle the ice machine willstart another freeze cycle (step 3).5. Automatic Shut-offThe level of ice in the ice storage bin controls the icemachine shut-off. When the bin is full, ice cubescontact the bin thermostat bulb holder, which coolsdown and opens to stop the ice machine. The icemachine remains off until enough ice has beenremoved from the bin. This causes the thermostat bulbholder to warm and close, restarting the ice machine.When the ice machine restarts, it returns to the startupsequence (steps 1 – 2).Part Number 80-01111-9 7/10 87
