HARVEST SEQUENCE4. Harvest CycleThe condenser fan motor and water pump deenergize.The water fill valve energizes to purge thewater in the water trough. The hot gas valve alsoenergizes at the beginning of the harvest cycle todivert hot refrigerant gas into the evaporator. The hotrefrigerant gas warms the evaporator, causing thecubes to slide, as a sheet, off the evaporator and intothe ice storage bin.The control system automatically determines thelength of the harvest cycle, based on the temperatureof the refrigeration system liquid line at the end of thefreeze cycle. At the end of the harvest cycle, the icemachine returns to another freeze cycle (step 3).AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF5. Automatic Shut-offThe level of ice in the ice storage bin controls the icemachine shut-off. When the bin is full, ice cubescontact the bin thermostat bulb holder, which coolsdown and opens to stop the ice machine. The icemachine remains off until enough ice has beenremoved from the bin. This causes the thermostat bulbholder to warm and close, restarting the ice machine.When the ice machine restarts, it returns to the startupsequence (steps 1 – 2).84 Part Number 80-01111-9 7/10
