SM50DIAGNOSING AN ICE MACHINETHAT WILL NOT RUN! WarningHigh (line) voltage is applied to the control board(terminals #20 an d # 21) at all times. Re movingcontrol board fuse o r moving the tog gle switch toOFF wi ll not remove the po wer supp lied to thecontrol board.1. Verify primary voltage is supplied to ice machine.2. Verify that the fuse or circuit breaker is closed andthe ice machine is plugged into a receptacle.3. Verify control board fuse is OK.4. Verify the transformer is supplying power to thecontrol board.• If the interior light functions or the red controlboard light is energized the transformer is OK.• If the transformer is supplying power to thecontrol board and the red control board lightwill not energize, replace the control board.5. Verify the “Power” switch functions properly.• If the red control board light is energized anddepressing the “Power” switch does notenergize the green “Power” light, check theinterconnecting wire, then replace the interfaceboard.6. Verify the bin thermostat functions properly.• The green “Power” light will be energized andthe ice machine will function in the “Clean”cycle when the bin thermostat is open.7. Check control board light to see if ice machineshutdown on over temperature limit (control boardlight will flash rapidly).8. Replace the control board.• Be sure Steps 1-6 were followed thoroughly.Intermittent problems are not usually related tothe control board.144 Part Number 80-01111-9 7/10
