Re: Trembley shots2 of 5Former Marauder Head Coach Manager for Baltimore OriolesRe: Trembley shotsDave Trembley, who for five years was the Marauders head coach, was named interim manager for the BaltimoreOrioles on June 18, 2007. By July 31, the “interim” tag was removed andon August 22, Trembley was hired as the Orioles’ manager for the 2008 season. He began the 2007 season as the Orioles bullpen coach after serving fouryears as a manager in the Orioles’minor league system. From the Orioles web site:“After serving as head baseballcoach for 5 years, 1980-84, atAntelope Valley College, a juniorcollege in the Los Angelesarea, Trembley began his careerin professional baseball as a LosAngeles area scout for the Chicago Cubs...”When asked to comment on his five years at AVC, Trembleyresponded: “Antelope Valley provided me the opportunity toteach and coach a very special group of young men and establishsome relationships with the community which has meant a greatdeal to me.”Trembley was inducted into the AVC Whit Carter MarauderAthletic Hall of Fame in 2009 under “College Staff.”3 of 5 3/25/08 5:44 PMMarauders vs. JetHawksBeginning in 2006, the Marauders play annually in an exhibition game with the Lancaster JetHawks, aprofessional Class-A Houston Astros affiliate team that plays in the California League. This game, which is completely legal under the rules of CCCAA, takes place between two teams thatshare the same facility -- Clear Channel Stadium -- as their home field. One major difference with this game for the Marauders is AVC plays withwooden bats, and not the aluminum bats which they normally play with.Additionally, unlike normal games at Clear Channel Stadium, the Maraudersare the designated visiting team and will wear their maroon jerseys. Theexhibition, which is scheduled for seven innings, is the last warm-up for theJetHawks before entering into their California League season. This year’sgame will be on Tue., April 6 at 5 p.m.RESULTS OF THE FIRST FOUR EXHIBITIONS2006 -- AVC 3, JetHawks 0 -- called by rain after 3 innings2007 -- JetHawks 2, AVC 12008 -- JetHawks 9, AVC 42009 -- JetHawks 18, AVC 1
