INTRODUCTIONSubmarine Manufacturing & Products Ltd (SMP) have available a 9-12 Man Saturation DivingSystem for sale. The system is ideally suited for moonpool operations or construction bargeoperations with its bell gantry launch system. The system can easily be configured for 9 or 12 manoperations which would mean the removal of the 3 man chamber from the system for 9 manoperations or utilising the 3 man chamber onto other manways of DDC1 for 12 man operations. Thesystem at this moment is approximately 85% complete.HISTORYIn 2007 the system was acquired from one of the major offshore diving contractors based inAberdeen. It was a fully operational system at that time however a full upgrade of the system whichincluded full refurbishment of the original chambers, an extension of 1.3 mtrs to DDC2 chamber, theprovision of a new 3 man chamber DDC3, the provision of a larger 3 man bell, a new sat and divecontrol container, a new machinery container utilising the existing life support systems, a new hotwater container and workshops and finally a new gantry bell handling system was provided. All the above work was carried out during 2007 through to 2010. The condition of the equipment atthis time is that it has been stored for approximately 2 years and would need approximately 4 – 6months work to return it to operational condition (subject to final specification of the system). All the chambers were hydro-tested in recent years and new viewports fitted.CERTIFICATIONCertification is available for the system. We have copies of the original certification for the pressurevessels, Hydro and Gas Test Certificates for this pressure vessel and a new Certification Packagefor the bell handling system. Certification is available for the new gas reclaim system and dedicatedcontainers ie. dive and sat control, machinery, and hot water/workshops. As of today the workingschematics and ‘as built’ drawings have not been completed.AVAILABILITYAs this equipment is in high demand, all of the equipment listed in this document or any part of theequipment associated but not listed, is strictly subject to availability. SMP will not be heldresponsible for the loss of any contract should this equipment, or any part of this equipment, not beavailable due to the option to purchase this equipment taken up by another party or contractor, orthe equipment being removed from the market.PRICINGThis is subject to interested parties’ inspection and negotiations with SMP. The equipment can besold as a completed fully functional system or alternatively sold ‘as is where is’, depending on theinterested parties’ requirements.Further details of the equipment can be provided to genuinely interested parties’ enquiries for thesystem.9-12 Man Saturation Diving System General Description & Photographs – Ref 104636/PJC [09/2012] 2 of 22

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe saturation diving system is of a modular design construction, meaning that the majorcomponents of the diving system are built onto individual skids. This modular construction allowsthe system layout to be configured in order to make maximum use of the space available on theVessel Deck. The saturation diving complex and associated equipment will be capable of supporting the following:2 x 3 Man Dive Teams (6 Men) in the main Twinlock Living Chamber DDC 1 with access to theBell/SDC via the entry lock (TUP 1).Twinlock living chamber DDC 2 with the attached TUP 2 Capacity 6 man to support two 3 man diveteams in the upgraded DDC 2 chamber. The attached TUP / Wet Pot (TUP 2) will give access fromthe dive complex to a Self Propelled Hyperbaric Lifeboat (HLB). The HLB is currently fitted out for12 men and has a rated depth of 300 MSW (30 Bar).3 man single lock chamber, designated DDC 3.The configuration of the new DDC 3 chamber will allow changing the diving operation to 9 Man insaturation, with the facility for 3 men to come out or go in to saturation, through the 3 man livingchamber DDC 3. This will additionally allow decompression of divers for medical or other reasonswithout disruption to the operational status of the dive system. The chamber can be additionally utilized as the dive complex designated Medical facility for injureddivers with the necessary specialised bed facility for elevating the patient extremities and monitoringcondition. The design and certification for the diving system will be for a maximum working depth of 300meters, in compliance with IMCA DO-24 and IMCA D0-18.The diving bell is rated for 300 MSW working depth, fully equipped for 3 divers in saturation modediving with an internal volume of 4.7m 3 . The bell is fitted with bottom and side manways. The bell has one mating position, utilising the bottom mate manway flange of the bell to connect tothe mating flange position on the top of the TUP 1 chamber. The bell is handled by a new purposedesigned and built hydraulic gantry type launch and recovery system with bullet catcherarrangement and teleleg cylinders for lifting and lowering the bell to and from the mated position. The bell is mated to the TUP 1 by hydraulically operated mating split half shell closure clamp (TubeTurn Type). This is fitted with a pressure safety interlock. The gantry type bell handling system complete with transfer trolley and passive cursor alsoincorporate a man-riding hydraulic bell winch, man-riding hydraulic driven clump weight winch andhydraulic umbilical winchThe hydraulic main bell winch is equipped with both primary and secondary drive motors for launchand recovery of the bell. The bell winch primary hydraulic motor will be the primary means ofoperating the winch, and the secondary hydraulic motor will be the designated secondary means ofoperating the winch during launch and recovery. The system is provided with a suitably rated twin hydraulic power unit electric driven 440 volt 3phase 60 Hz, for operation of the handling system components and winches. The clump weight winch will act as a further means of recovery in the event of failure of the mainbell winch or hydraulic system. This gives 100% contingency in the event of failure. The operation of the hydraulic handling system and winches is from a purpose built air conditionedcontrol cabin located on the handling system skid which is located above the chamber skid.9-12 Man Saturation Diving System General Description & Photographs – Ref 104636/PJC [09/2012] 3 of 22
