Annual Conference<br />
Over 100 individuals have already registered for<br />
Minnesota Adult Day Services Association’s<br />
Annual Conference. Held October 27 from 7:30<br />
a.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the University of Minnesota's<br />
Continuing Education and Conference Center,<br />
participants can expect great presentations,<br />
exhibits and networking opportunities.<br />
Keynote presenters include Dr. Robert Veninga<br />
who will present on creating and maintaining<br />
innovation while enhancing the participant<br />
experience; Iris Freeman will present Glimpses<br />
of the Future at the Capitol: Making a Difference<br />
(No Matter Who's in the Majority); and Tasha<br />
Schuh will share her moving and inspiring story<br />
of overcoming challenges.<br />
Breakout sessions include Sustaining<br />
Professional Hope in <strong>Care</strong>giving to Avoid<br />
Compassion Fatigue, presented by Lores<br />
Vlamnick, RN, MA, CHPN. Kay King, Older<br />
Adults Program Director at NAMI will present<br />
Gray Matters: Understanding Depression in<br />
Older Adults. Other breakout sessions include,<br />
From Pens to iPads: What You Should Know<br />
About Electronic Medical Records; and<br />
Contemporary Arts in Programming: Painting,<br />
Improvisation and Museums at <strong>Your</strong> Center.<br />
The conference is geared towards health care<br />
professionals in acute, long term, community<br />
based and home care settings.<br />
