Fakulti Perubatan • 123The Bioethics and Humanities Programme aims to help students learn andapply various basic principles of medical ethics, laws and other humanityaspects in the medical profession.Learning MethodsVarious learning methods such as interactive lecture, tutorial, laboratoryskills, medical laboratory, assignment, extramural activity and minor thesisare carried out in this programme.An interactive lecture is taught in the freshmen semester programme. Thenumber will be reduced gradually according to the educational needs of thestudents. This activity is directed towards learning and not to transform thecontent.The tutorial is very important in the educational process. It is the coreof problem-based learning. This activity is held in a small group with amaximum of 10 students.The laboratory skills is taught from second semester with a maximum of 10students coached by a trainer.<strong>Medical</strong> laboratory activities will be offered to enhance the student’sunderstanding on the basic concepts and principles in a medical lab. It isrelated to the topics discussed during the tutorial classes. It includes handsonin the computer laboratory for CRP.Assignments are given to students. Students will write a report based on aparticular theme after attending extramural activities, reading a textbook,journal or other printed materials.Extramural activities are organized for students in either BHP or CHOP.Minor Thesis is optional. Students can select elective topics according totheir interests.
