It is based on student-centered principles towardsautonomy and self-directed learning. Firstly, a pertinent case is introduced totrigger integration and to acquire new knowledge. Lab skills are provided inclinical competencies for the future physician in addition to other related learningformats such as interactive lecturing and medical laboratory activities.Students will develop a new character during the learning process. Studentswill also find the new environment challenging. The different cultures betweenIndonesia and Malaysia may hamper the educational progress of the students.Academic staff will act as tutors and advisors to help students cope with thechange. A team of counselors is available to help students to deal with theirproblems.In line with the student-centered principles, the faculty provides amenities forstudents. The students need to know the kinds of facilities available and the wayto optimize the usage.All students are encouraged to be actively engaged in social activities throughthe students’ organization. It is the core of the education process. However, thestudents need to strike a balance between their personal development in socialactivities and self-effort to achieve the educational outcomes.2.
