Jesus (actually Yeshua) was on a spiritualmissionto save the world spiritually, Judas only saw his own frustrations thatYeshuawas not the fulfillment of the great leader his educated mind expected.It'sobvious that Judas had to have an element of disillusionment withYeshua benJoseph (Jesus) because he betrayed Yeshua for an insignificant amountofmoney. As a educated wheeler dealer with money, he most certainlywas notimpressed with the amount he was paid to betray a popular friend (infact hethrew it away with disgust like a teenager tosses away a penny today);butthere doesn't seem to have been any bargaining to get more. He wasdisillusioned; Yeshua had not fulfilled his expectations. The secondthoughtshe had later also indicate his sellout was an act in the heat of themoment,precipitated by something. What are our expectations of Christ today? Ihavemet my share of disillusioned "ex-Christians" who didn't get their
expectations met.A young man came to my house and ranted and raved about how Christand God hadbetrayed him. He was angry with God. His expectations of GodAlmighty had notbeen met. It was difficult to get in a word edgewise during his 30-minutetirade, but finally after patiently listening to his rage, I managed to ask aquestion? I ask, "Did you give your life to Christ?" "Well, yes." "If yousincerely gave your life to Yahweh and Christ to do with as they please,howcan you be upset at what they did with it?", I softly asked. Then whilelooking him in the eyes, I managed to slip in a few words of warning,"Beingangry with God is a very dangerous thing. It will cost you your life."Within a short time this angry man's anger had cost him his life. Hepulledinto the parking lot of Fred Meyer's store. At this point, the truck aheadofhim upset him, so he began to scream. Further frightened by this ravingstranger,the driver sped up and took a sharp turn.
