Section 95: Any judicial police officer conducting a search in connection with a specific offencemay carry out a seizure in connection with another offence only if the latter attracts animprisonment sentence.Section 96:(1) All articles seized shall be shown to the suspect or if he is not present, to his representative orto the person in possession of them so that he may identify them and initial them if necessary.Where he refuses to do so, mention of this fact shall be made in the report.(2) Subject to the provisions of section 97, ail articles seized shall in ail cases be shown to thewitnesses in order that they may identify and initial them if necessary.(3)(a) An inventory of the articles seized shall be made on the spot, described in full detail and keptunder seal.(b) If it is not convenient to make an inventory on the spot, the articles shall be provisionally putaway under seal until an inventory is made and they are finally sealed. This shall be done in thepresence of the persons mentioned in section 93 (2).(c) If the sizes of the articles seized or of the conditions for their preservation so require, theymay be put under seal without using a bag or envelope.Section 97: When a judicial police officer conducts a search, he alone shall have the right toexamine the contents of the documents found in the place before they are seized. He shall bebound by professional secrecy.Section 98:(1) The report on the search and seizure shall be drawn up in accordance with the provisions ofsection 90. It shall be signed by the occupant of the place and the person in possession of thearticles or in case of their absence, their representative, as well as the witnesses and any otherperson who took part in the search.(2) The report shall state the full name, status, names of parents, date and places of birth as wellas the permanent addresses of the signatories.
