(3) In each jurisdiction of the Court or Appeal, the judicial police shall be under the control ofthe Procureur General. The Procureur General shall evaluate, at the end of each year, the work ofjudicial police personnel referred to in subsection (1).SUB-CHAPTER ITHE STATUS OF A JUDICIAI POLICE OFFICERSection 79: The following shall have the status of judicial police officers:(a) officers and non-commissioned officers of the gendarmerie;(b) gendarmes in charge even in an acting capacity of a gendarmerie brigade or gendarmeriepost;(c) superintendents of police;(d) deputy superintendents of police;(e) gendarmes and inspectors of police who have passed the judicial police officer's examinationand taken the oath;(f) public servants even if they are temporarily performing the functions of head of an externalservice of the National Security.Section 80: Public servants and other public employees who have been assigned judicial policeduties by special instruments shall his charge those duties under the conditions and within thelimits fixed by the said instruments.Section 81:(1) Gendarmes who are not judicial police officers, police inspectors and constables shall havethe status of judicial police agents.They shall assist judicial police officers in the performance of their duties, and shall report totheir superior officers of all offences which have come to their knowledge.(2) Judicial police agents shall have no authority to take decisions to remand in police custody.
