Trip Computer2When a trip computer feature is selected, it will be displayeduntil switched off or until another trip computer feature isselected. However, note that the message centre is also usedto display warning messages and these will automaticallyoverride the trip computer display (see ‘Warning messages’ laterin this section).Trip distanceThe trip computer has a second trip recorder ‘trip distance 2’,that provides an additional distance record to the standard triprecorder.Distance to tank empty (‘range’)This function is automatic and displays the remaining distanceyou can travel before the fuel gauge reads empty. Thedistance will change when the car is refuelled. The ‘range’ calculation is based on a combination of currentdriving style, and the fuel consumption recorded by thecomputer during the previous few minutes.NOTE: The distance to tankempty cannot be reset manually.Average fuel consumptionThis function is automatic and indicates the average fuelconsumption since the last time the trip computer was reset(average fuel consumption is calculated by dividing thedistance travelled by the amount of fuel used). Theconsumption value can be reset at any time to begincalculating new consumption values for a particular journeyor driving conditions.Average speedThis function is automatic and indicates the average speedsince the last time it was reset (average speed is calculated bydividing the actual distance travelled by the accumulated timein which the starter switch has been turned on).The average speed can be reset at any time to begincalculating a new average speed value for a particular journeyor driving condition.77
