WashersWashersWINDSCREEN WASHER TOP-UPDO NOT use an anti-freezeor vinegar/water solutionin the washer reservoir -anti-freeze will damage paintedsurfaces, while vinegar candamage the windscreen washerpump.H2684The windscreen washer reservoir supplies both front screenwasher jets and headlight washer jets (where fitted).Check the reservoir level every week. To ensure propercleaning of the windscreen and to prevent freezing in coldweather, top-up with a mixture of water and a proprietarybrand of screenwash. Preferably mix the recommendedquantities of water and screenwash in a separate containerbefore topping-up the system, and always follow theinstructions on the container.Note that body panels may suffer discoloration as a result ofscreenwash spillage. Take care to avoid spillage, particularly ifan undiluted or high concentration of screenwash is beingused. If spillage occurs, wash the affected area immediatelywith water.WASHER JETSThe windscreen washer jets are set during manufacture andshould not need adjusting. However, if adjustment is evernecessary, insert a needle into the jet orifice and lever gentlyto position each jet so that the spray is directed towards thecentre of the windscreen.Should any jet become obstructed, insert a needle or thinstrand of wire into the orifice to clear the blockage.Some Screenwashproducts areinflammable, particularly ifhigh or undiluted concentrationsare exposed to sparks. Do notallow screenwash to come intocontact with naked flames orsources of ignition.Operating tip: Operate thewashers periodically to checkthat the nozzles are clear andproperly directed.HEADLIGHT WASHERS*The spray jets are set during manufacture and should not needto be adjusted.154
