BatteryBatteryBATTERY MAINTENANCEH2743To access the battery, unclip and remove the battery cover asshown in illustration.The battery is designed to be maintenance free, so topping-upis unnecessary. On the top of the battery there is a batterycondition indicator (arrowed in illustration). Examine theindicator periodically to check the battery’s condition. Whenthe indicator shows:• GREEN - the battery is in a good state of charge.• DARK (turning to black) - the battery needs charging.• CLEAR (or light yellow) - the battery must be replaced.Do not charge the battery or jump start the car with thebattery in this condition.Operating tip: If necessary, cleanthe top of the battery to ensure aclear view of the conditionindicator. Use a torch if naturallight is poor.Operating tip: If the indicatorshows clear or yellow, tap theindicator with a screwdriver todisperse any air bubbles - if theindicator colour is unchanged,the battery must be replaced.150
