Power SteeringCheck & Top-up3Fluid specification: Use any fluidto Dexron III specification. Fluidsmanufactured to thisspecification are suitable for usein temperatures between -20° Cto +30° C (if climatic temperaturefalls outside these limits, seekadvice from your dealer).H2683Check the fluid level every week. The engine should beswitched off with the system cold and the front wheels in thestraight ahead position before the level is checked.Wipe the filler cap clean to prevent dirt from entering thereservoir. Remove the filler cap and, using a clean lint-freecloth, wipe the dipstick clean. Refit the cap fully and removeagain to check the fluid level. If necessary, top-up with a fluidmeeting Dexron III specification until the level is betweenthe upper and lower marks on the dipstick (see illustration).DO NOT OVERFILL!NOTE: The colour of <strong>com</strong>mercially available power steeringfluids may differ from that used to fill the system duringmanufacture. This is not a cause for concern.Care point: Take care not to spillpower steering fluid onto a hotengine - a fire may result.Care point: Power steering fluidwill damage painted surfaces.Soak up any spillage with anabsorbent cloth immediately andwash the area with a mixture ofcar shampoo and water.149
