Power SteeringPower SteeringPOWER STEERING FLUIDIf the power steering is operating correctly, there will be littleor no requirement to top-up the reservoir. Any frequent orregular need to top-up the fluid should be investigated by aqualified dealer. If the fluid has dropped below the lower level mark,top-up the reservoir BEFORE starting the engine, ordamage to the steering pump could result.Under no circumstances should the car be driven with thefluid level below the lower mark on the dipstick, or if a rapidor significant loss of fluid is detected. However, if it can beestablished that fluid loss is slow, then the reservoir may betopped-up to the upper level mark to enable the car to bedriven a short distance to the nearest dealer for examination. If power steering fluidshould come into contactwith the skin or eyes, rinseimmediately with plenty ofwater.Power steering fluid ishighly toxic - keepcontainers sealed and out of thereach of children. If accidentalconsumption of fluid issuspected, seek medicalattention immediately.148
