BrakesBrakesBRAKE FLUIDThe level of fluid in the brake reservoir may fall slightlyduring use, as a result of brake pad wear and will need to betopped-up from time to time. If there is any appreciable dropin level over a short period, consult your dealer. DO NOTdrive if the fluid level is below the minimum mark onthe reservoir.Brake fluid must be completely replaced every two years.Check & Top-up3Brake fluid is highly toxic -keep containers sealedand out of the reach of children.If accidental consumption ofbrake fluid is suspected, seekmedical attention immediately.Prevent brake fluidcoming into contact withthe skin or eyes. If this occurs,rinse immediately with plenty ofwater.H2708Remove the detachable mesh panel on the driver’s side of thecar to access the brake fluid reservoir. The fluid level can beseen through the reservoir neck and should be maintained asclose to the ‘MAX’ mark as possible. DO NOT allow thelevel to drop below the ‘MIN’ mark.Wipe the cap clean to prevent dirt from entering thereservoir. Unscrew the cap and top-up the reservoir to the‘MAX’ mark using a recommended fluid.Use only new fluid from a sealed container (old fluid fromuncapped containers or fluid previously bled from the systemwill have absorbed moisture, and adversely affect brakingperformance).Fluid specification: AP NewPremium Super DOT 4 brakefluid, or Castrol Universal DOT 4brake fluid.Care point: Take care not to spillbrake fluid onto a hot engine - afire may result.Care point: Brake fluid willdamage painted surfaces. Soakup any spillage with an absorbentcloth immediately and wash thearea with a mixture of carshampoo and water.147
