Maintenance3Service PortfolioThe Service Portfolio book includes a Service Recordsection, which enables a record to be kept of all the oilservices and inspections that are carried out on the car. Thissection of the book also provides a facility for the dealer torecord brake fluid and coolant changes, as well as the fittingof replacement airbag modules and seat belt pre-tensioners.Ensure your dealer signs and stamps the book after each oilservice and inspection.Brake fluid replacementThe brake fluid requires replacement every two years,irrespective of the distance the car has travelled. Normally, thebrake fluid change indicator on the instrument panel willcommence illuminating (for four seconds every time thestarter switch is initially turned to the second position) as soonas each two year period has elapsed. However, if animpending oil service or inspection falls due within a periodof up to 180 days prior to the brake fluid change becomingdue, then the indicator will illuminate earlier. This will enablethe dealer to combine the brake fluid change with the oilservice or inspection, thereby avoiding the need for anadditional dealer visit.Note that brake fluid replacement will be an additional cost.Coolant replacementThe engine coolant (anti-freeze and water solution) needs tobe replaced every four years regardless of the distance the carhas travelled. Your Rover dealer will replace the coolant atthe scheduled oil service or inspection nearest to theconclusion of each four year period, to avoid the need for anadditional dealer visit.Note that coolant replacement will be an additional cost.135
