Lights & IndicatorsLights & IndicatorsLIGHTING SWITCH12NOTE: If the lights (other thanparking lights and headlightcourtesy delay) are left on afterthe starter switch has beenturned off, a warning chime willsound when the driver’s door isopened, until either the lights areturned off, or the door is closed.H2714Side, tail and instrument panel lightsTurn the lighting switch to the first position.HeadlightsWith the starter switch turned to the second position, turn thelighting switch to the second position.To illuminate the driveway after stopping the engine, theheadlight courtesy delay feature can be operated as follows:Having stopped the car, turn the starter switch off BEFOREturning off the lighting switch. The headlights will thenremain illuminated for approximately 30 seconds. (If the lightswitch is turned off before the starter switch is turned toposition ‘0’, the feature will not operate).If necessary, the courtesy delay can be cancelled at any timeduring the 30 seconds by turning the starter switch on andthen off again.Operating tip: If a tail light bulb isdefective, the correspondingbrake light will illuminate as asubstitute tail light until thedefective bulb is replaced. Notethat on car’s equipped with amessage centre, bulb failures areidentified on the instrument paneldisplay.114
