Automatic TransmissionMODE SWITCHH2756The automatic gearbox has three driver-selectable operatingmodes, Normal (economy), Sport and Snow. When thestarter switch is turned on, the transmission automaticallyselects the Normal (economy) mode.Normal (economy) modeNormal mode is suitable for all day to day driving andoptimises fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Toreturn to Normal mode after selecting either of the othermodes, push the switch towards the front of the car.Sport modePull the switch towards the rear of the car to select (‘S’appears in the trip recorder display). With Sport modeselected, the gearbox is more responsive to accelerator pedalmovement - downshifts occur earlier and upshifts are delayedto make optimum use of the engine's power whileaccelerating.Operating tip: Select sport modewhen increased engineacceleration is required, or whennegotiating long inclines, butnote that driving in sport modewill increase fuel consumption.Snow modePress down on the centre of the switch to select (asnowflake symbol appears in the trip recorder display).Select Snow mode when moving from rest on loose orslippery surfaces (the car will move off in second gear andsubsequently upshift at lower speeds, thereby reducing thepossibility of wheel spin).106
