Automatic Transmission2Automatic TransmissionGEAR SELECTORH2738The automatic transmission features a five speed gearbox withthree manually selectable modes (Normal (economy), Sportand Snow mode).The selector lever is fitted with a spring loaded catch,designed to minimise the possibility of accidental selection ofthe ‘P’ (Park) and ‘R’ (Reverse) positions from other drivegears or the accidental selection of a gear too low for the car’sroad speed. To release the catch, press and hold the triggermounted in the handle of the selector lever (arrowed inillustration) while moving the lever.The following gear changes will be inhibited unless thetrigger is used:• ‘P’ to ‘R’• ‘D’ to ‘4’• ‘4’ to ‘3’• ‘3’ to ‘2’• ‘N’ to ‘R’• ‘R’ to ‘P’NOTE: A light on the selectordisplay and a number or letter onthe trip recorder display,identifies the selected gearposition.Do not press the triggerwhen changing gear,except when necessary.103
