The dogshere have all come from living onthe streets and are not adoptablefor various physical or behavioralreasons.Ronaldo was left at Karuna Kunjby his person, who moved out ofthe city. But this man, who namedRonaldo after a Brazilian soccerplayer, wanted his dogsomewhere where he could visithim.Ronaldo's person doesn’t cometo visit anymore, but he has plentyof other visitors. And, since mostof the other dogs are wary ofhumans, Ronaldo gets everyvisitor’s attention all to himself.He likes to oversee that eachperson signs the Guest Book, asin the photo above. When I wasat Karuna Kunj, Ronaldo never leftmy side and any moment Istopped or sat down, his head wasright under my hand.Ronaldo has plenty of doggiefriends at the sanctuary, too.There’s Dingo, Moti, Lalu, Kalu,Rocky, Kabir, Tiger, and manymore. Since it is warm all the timein India, the dogs don’t need tobe kept indoors. They are free togo wherever they like (only thekitchen with a screened door isoff-limits). In the summer, they digholes to lie in or sleep in shadyareas. In the winter, they sprawlout in the sun.Ronaldo and the other dogs havea home for the rest of their livesat Karuna Kunj.
