The developmentof new materials has been of central importance sincethe very beginnings of the company. This is becausecustomers have to stand their ground in a competitiveenvironment which brings with it ever greater requirementsin terms of product characteristics that can only be metthrough improved or new materials. Due to this, lightweightyet high strength materials have often come to act as afocus. They serve to reduce the energy input and this reducesmaterial costs, weight and volume.Very early on we recognised that it is not enough to planthe shape of a component. As such, the material is alsoindividually adjusted to the respective application and optimisedwhere necessary.Today, the wealth of experience that has built up over manydecades enables us to offer customers a range of materialproperties that cannot be found elsewhere. The wide rangeof materials on offer incorporates 150 aluminium, magnesium,titanium, nickel and copper alloys. If customersneed optimised characteristics for specific applications,this is often a starting point for the new development ofan application based material. We achieve melts of the highest purityusing sophisticated melt treatments and specially-effective double filtersystems. State of the art operational control systems ensure indispensableprocess security and the traceability of each individual batch.Our foundries ensure a closed material cycle in which waste productionis 100 % reused by returning it back to the production line. Thisenables optimised production taking economic and ecological aspectsinto account.Due to this, in the development of new alloys, we always work withsignificantly closer tolerances than the standards specify.
