Some furniture products arereversible for left or right hand door opening.Installation NotesWhen installing a wall hung pan or wash basinplease ensure that appropriate fixings or suitableframework are used. When purchasing a wallhung pan, wash basin or bidet on its own Bauhausdoes not supply any fixings. We stronglyrecommend all furniture and ceramics be fitted toa tiled surface, not tiled up to, this will assist anyfuture maintenance. Due to the weight of someproducts you must ensure that the walls to whichfixing is to be carried out are of a suitableconstruction to support the product.Suites and Basin CeramicsVitreous China is an extremely hard, non-porousproduct; but it is also breakable and thereforemust not be put under stress during installation.Basin waste fittings if over tightened will createstress within the ceramic material which may intime cause the failure of the product. Wastefittings should be carefully sealed in silicone andthe back nut hand tightened, one additional andfinal quarter turn using a suitable spanner issufficient to create the required watertight seal.Care should also be taken when fitting brasswareto tap platforms in order to prevent similar stressrelated failures. All products should be inspectedbefore attempting installation..Care and CleaningBauhaus furniture and ceramic products are madeto the highest standards, by following the simpleguidelines below will provide you with many yearsof enjoyable service.General:NEVER use products containing bleach, causticsoda, cleaners of a gritty or abrasive nature or socalled “glass and mirror” cleaning products.Furniture:Apart from regular wiping off the furniture unitscan be cleaned with a moist soft or micro fibrecloth. Any stubborn marks can be removed withdiluted mild detergent e.g. washing up liquid.Mirrors, light fittings:Clean only with a micro fibre cloth.Cast mineral resin basins:The high gloss polished finish is easily cleanedusing a diluted mild detergent e.g. washing upliquid or warm non-abrasive soapy water; in hardwater areas a good quality lime-scale remover canbe applied.We also recommend you rinse off householdchemicals immediately, clean surface with warmsoapy water and wipe dry.Ceramics:Sanitary ware should be cleaned after use byapplying a little cream-type cleaner using asponge or damp cloth and rinsed thoroughly withclean water. In hard water areas a good qualitylime-scale remover can be applied.Cast mineral resin basins:The high gloss polished finish is easily cleanedusing a diluted mild detergent e.g. washing upliquid or warm non-abrasive soapy water; in hardwater areas a good quality lime-scale remover canbe applied. Accidental spillages of householdchemicals should be removed immediately, cleanthe surface with warm soapy water and wipe dry.We recommend regular application of BauhausMineral Basin Cream Polish SD150RW this willassist in preventing the build up of lime scale andretain the gloss lustre.If any maintenance is required then it must becarried out by a qualified plumber or in the case ofelectrical installations a suitably qualifiedelectrical engineer.Towel Rails:Towel Rails should be cleaned when cold withwarm soapy water only and polished with a soft,dry, clean cloth.Product Guarantee*All Bauhaus products unless otherwise stated carry a15 year guarantee, which covers all manufacturingdefaults. This guarantee does not cover damageduring fitting or misuse.• The guarantee is only available to originalpurchasers who have proof of purchase.• If the product has been installed, Bauhaus mustbe given the opportunity to inspect the productin the installed condition.• If the product is defective in materials ormanufacture the original purchaser mustcontact our Technical Department within 30days of the fault occurring. If the fault is notresolved the goods should be returned toBauhaus and at our discretion we will refundthe purchase price, repair and return the goodsto you or send new goods or parts to you as areplacement, this shall constitute our soleobligation under this guarantee.• Due to a continuous development program. If inour opinion the product has failed under theterms of the guarantee and a replacement isoffered but identical goods are no longeravailable, Bauhaus will replace it with ournearest equivalent product.• This guarantee covers normal use; it does notcover faults caused by incorrect installation,wilful damage, neglect, misuse, modification,inappropriate cleaning, accidental damage andother events outside Bauhaus control.• The guarantee does not cover any product thathas been altered or modified in any way withoutthe prior written consent of Bauhaus.• If a claim is made under this guarantee, andthe defect is not due to faulty materials ormanufacture, Bauhaus reserve the right tocharge the customer at the current hourly ratein respect of any service engineer time.• The guarantee is only valid for productspurchased, installed and used in the UnitedKingdom.• The guarantee does not cover ex-display units.• The benefit of this guarantee cannot betransferred to a third party.The guarantee is in addition to and does not affectyour statutory rights.In the interest of continuing design, developmentand product improvement, Bauhaus reserve theright to change colour, designs and productspecifications without prior notice.*All products carry a 15 year guarantee with theexception of bathroom furniture ranges,illuminated mirrors, bathroom cabinets and towelrails which all carry a 5 year guarantee.
