The Gospel testimony in thepagan city of Ephesus did not result in the church beingpatterned after the predominate culture of the community--the temple of Diana. No, the proclamation of Christ ruinedthe business of the ungodly, and changed lives resulted in achanged culture, not a changed church (Acts 19:21 ff).Another example of this willingness to subjugate personalliberty to win the lost is found in the advice given by theapostles at Jerusalem in Acts 15.
