If you click OK to the message,a /etc/named.conf file is created with default values.FIGURE 16.1Default SettingsTo add, edit, or delete properties, select an entry from the list in the main window andright-click on it to view an action menu. The actions in the menu vary depending onwhat is selected.Importing Defined HostsThe Import button on the toolbar can be used to import a list of IP addresses and theirhostnames in the format of the /etc/hosts file. After clicking the button, use the Openbutton to select the file containing hosts to import. To import all the hosts listed in the selected file, click OK and notice that the hostsappear in the zone list of the main window. The list of imported hosts from the given filecan be filtered so that only specific hosts matching a pattern, or not matching a givenpattern, are imported. To set up a filter, first select one of the filter types from the NewList Element list. The input fields in the Edit List Element area changes depending onwhich filter type is selected. For example, selecting IPV4 Address Filter changes the EditList Element frame to look like Figure 16.2.For any of the filter types, enter the pattern to match and click OK in the Edit ListElement frame to add it to the Filter List. When the filter is added, if the unlabeledbutton is clicked to the left of the input fields in the Edit List Element frame, an exclamationpoint appears as the label of the button. If a filter is added with the exclamationpoint instead of adding the hosts that match the filter, hosts that match the pattern arenot added. If Match ALL Filters is selected, hosts are added only if they match all thepatterns in the list. If Match ANY Filters is selected, hosts are added if they match at leastone of the filters. After configuring the filters, click OK on the bottom right of the dialogwindow to add the desired hosts to the zone list in the main window.
