Introducing the virsh Command 539Follow the instructions from Chapter 1 to install the guest OS on the newly created VM.The last step of the installation program is to click the Reboot button to reboot thesystem and complete the installation. After the VM shuts down for the reboot, the VM isnot automatically restarted and the VM name disappears from the list of domains in theVirtual Machine Manager window. Refer to the section “Starting and Stopping the VirtualMachine” to learn how to start the VM and the guest OS.With virt-installThe virt-install interactive command-line tool can be used to set up the domain andthen start the installation program. Execute the virt-install command as root to begin.The same questions from the Virtual Machine Manager are asked along with whether thegraphical or text-based installation program should be used. After the VM is successfullyset up, the virtual machine window appears as with the graphical application.
