She is going to San Francisco State for business and marketing, but would like to continue taking photography classes.Looking Through a Different EYE<strong>Palisades</strong> High School student photography was ondisplay last month in the <strong>Palisades</strong> Branch Librarycommunity room. Teacher Rick Steil chose fromthe works of more than 160 students in his beginning,advanced and AP photography classes. The photos on theSpotlight page are representative of that top-notch work.Since Steil started teaching at PaliHi, seven years ago,the classes have grown by more than 60 students. Theformer professional fashion photographer said, “I’vebeen told its one of the hardest classes to get into at Pali.”This summer Steil will host a week-long photographycamp with morning or afternoon sessions on the<strong>Palisades</strong> High campus. Enrollment will be limited to10 in each session, and a student must be in seventhgrade or older (adults are welcome) to enroll.Steil will teach digital photography basics, includingcomposition, shutter speed/aperture/ISO, Photoshop andinkjet printing.
