BALLARAT CHURCHES EUREKA CAROLSChristmas is a fantastic time of the year and it is a privilege for us as a church tocoordinate the main Carols of Ballarat. The Ballarat Churches Eureka Carols was voted asthe best Community Event of the Year. This is something that we need to celebrateChristmas Celebrations.The carols last year was the first time we used the nameCarols. This is a deliberate move to promote unity in thecity and for the city of Ballarat to know that thechurches worktogether. It alsomeans thatchurches that areunable to hold aCarols event areable to be part ofthe Eureka Carols.Unfortunately thecarols were held again indoors at the Badminton Centredue to the poor weather. Although this is not the sameas being outside we still saw around 3000 people gathertogether to celebrating Christmas.The carols are an important connection that we havewith the community and a reminder that Christmas is atime to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus. The carolsare filled with tremendous reminders of the truemeaning of Christmas with words that are so familiar topeople that they are often sung without really graspingBallarat, an opportunity to portray the positive messageThe carols are an important connection that wehave with the community and a reminder thatway that is familiarto all who attend thecarols.We would like tothank everyone whowas involved in thecarols from set up &pack up teams,performers, organisers, helpers, technical crews andsupporters.
