<strong>Resident</strong> <strong>Gro<strong>up</strong></strong> <strong>Start</strong>-<strong>up</strong> <strong>Grant</strong>APPLICATION FORMWhen a new <strong>Resident</strong>s’ <strong>Gro<strong>up</strong></strong> has formed and has held its fi rst open meeting to establish a committeeand formally adopt a constitution, the gro<strong>up</strong> can register with <strong>Spectrum</strong> Housing <strong>Gro<strong>up</strong></strong> (SHG). Afteryou have registered your gro<strong>up</strong> and received confi rmation that your gro<strong>up</strong> is ‘formally’ recognised,you can apply for a fi rst grant known as a <strong>Start</strong>-<strong>up</strong> <strong>Grant</strong> of £300.The grant can cover:•Items of stationery•Postage costs•Telephone costs•Publishing a newsletter•Hire of meeting space•Special requirements (eg childcare, translation)•Costs to cover carrying out your own surveys•Affi liation fees, ie fees that need to be paid to another organisation for joininge.g Local Tenant Federation•Refreshment costs•Travelling expenses (for attending meetings in other areas on behalf of theresidents’ gro<strong>up</strong>).• Promotional events to get more people involvedYou can only apply for a <strong>Start</strong>-<strong>up</strong> <strong>Grant</strong> once. If your <strong>Resident</strong>s’ <strong>Gro<strong>up</strong></strong> has been running for sometime and has a constitution and a committee, you can register with the <strong>Resident</strong> InvolvementOffi cer for the area each subsequent year and apply for a <strong>Resident</strong>s’ <strong>Gro<strong>up</strong></strong> Annual <strong>Grant</strong> of £250.Please return this form to your <strong>Resident</strong> Involvement Offi cer or contact them on 0800 783 7837 ifyou need help with this form.
