Langqin area survey summaryThe Langqin area is located in the north ofGuangwai Jiedao, bounded by Guangwai Dajie,Shoupakou Nanjie, Hongju Beijie and HongjuJie. The on-street survey from 7.00am-10.00pmshows that the parking demand in the area doesnot change much throughout the day, with thepeak parking demand between 8-9pm. There are217 formal parking spaces, which are priced andoperated, and 76 priced setback parking spaces.The total parking demand is higher than theformal on-street parking supply, for two reasons:(1) on-street parking spaces are not formalized onmany streets, although the existing street design,available space and current use allow for on-streetparking operation; (2) many vehicles park illegallyon sidewalks (15% of demand) and setbacks (18%of demand).The average parking duration is 5.02 hours,which is too high for on-street parking whichis rather intended for short-term parking ofmaximum 2-3 hours. If overnight parking wouldbe taken into account, this number would beeven higher.
