Although no surveys were done into this,several of these were found to show incorrectinformation, with actual vacancies much higherthan vacancies shown on the boards.In one off-street parking garage found, lightsabove each parking space indicate with green andred lights whether the parking space is occupied.This reduces circling inside the garage.Some parking garages were found to havetwo or three level mechanical parking, reducingthe required floor space for off-street parkingprovision. Many of these were not in use though.Possibly explanations are dysfunctional systemsor ample supply at more convenient on-groundspaces in the garage.Payment in off-street parking garages is donein cash, or in some instances with an RFID card,when exiting the parking garage.
