The system was very successful,and subsequently generated complaints andeven lawsuits from drivers who were illegallyparking. It became controversial, and was unfortunatelydiscontinued. The proposed on-street parking system for the Guang’anmen Langqin area is shown in the graph above. It showsthe proposed formal, paid on-street parking spaces and closely matches with the current locations of illegalparking, shown in the top graph.
