Now use the diff tool to create the patch:# diff -u --new-file --recursive dolfin-0.1.0dolfin-0.1.0-mod > dolfin--.patchwritten as one line, where is a keyword that can be usedto identify the patch as coming from you (your username, last name,first name, a nickname etc) and is today’s date in the formatyyyy-mm-dd.6. The patch now exists as dolfin--.patch andcan be distributed to other people who already have dolfin-0.1.0 toeasily create your modified version. If the patch is large, compressingit with for example gzip is advisable:# gzip dolfin--.patch106
