Swiss Time Systems

Swiss Time SystemsMains Frequency Supervision• Precise measurement and log ofmains frequency (50/60 Hz)• Signaling of deviation• Various programmable alarm limitvalues• Values displayed on terminal, built-inLCD or remote LED displayOperation terminal

Swiss Time SystemsSystem structure• An MTC installation is composed ofsystems, modules and units, hierarchicallyorganized.• A unit controls and monitors inputsand outputs. e.g. impulse or MOBA-Line clock lines, Ethernet connectionwith its numerous services, serial outputs, time code generators, etc.• One or several units of the sametype are included in one module.e.g. U 4.0.0 with four impulse lines,U 4.1.0 with four serial outputs. Amodule is composed of single or multipleboards. For system operationalreliability and security each modulefulfills its task independently.• The master and modules togethermake a system. All modules haveidentical priorities and communicatein a polling procedure with the master. It communicates over an internaltwo-wire-bus with optocoupler-isolationto / from each module. No connectedmodule is able to block thecommunication. The system is mountedin a 19” rack, with indicators forpower, regular operation, alarmsand DCF signal. System operation isperformed by PC terminal.• The complete MTC system can beexpanded with an almost unlimitednumber of sub-systems by means ofthe industrial two-wire-bus LON TM (LocalOperation Network).

Swiss Time SystemsVersatile modules for all applications• U 1.1.0 Master 2Time synchronization, supervisionand control of all modules, communicatingwith PC terminal and othersystems. The software is saved on anextractable memory-card. The softwareis automatically downloaded tomodules.• U 2.2.1 Terminal AdapterDisplay for «alarm», «warning» and«regular operation» by LEDs. RS 232or USB adapter between the masterand PC-terminal. RS 232 interfacefor protocol printer. In each MTC system(19’’ sub-rack) a terminal adapterU 2.2.1. is required.• U 5.0.0 Charger (charging-controller)Automatic charging of 24 or 48 Vlead-acid batteries. Charging current6 A max. Supervision of voltage, current and temperature. Several U5.0.0 may be used in parallel connectionfor current increase.• U 1.5.x Network processing MasterClockInputs for different external time sources:GPS, DCF, serial time telegramsRS 232/RS 422. Four outputs forhigh precision synch pulses or DCF(current loop or RS 422). Masterclock with accurate time base forstand alone operation (U 1.5.0: +/-0.01s/day; U 1.5.1: +/- 0.001 s/day (at 20 °C +/- 5 °C). Connectionvia TCP/IP, Ethernet to LAN/WAN.Numerous services: NTP V4-server,NTP-client (as MTC’s master clock),SNMP-traps V1/ e-mail alarm reporting, remote operation control.• U 3.4.0 Time code SwitchoverModuleSupervision of 2 x 4 time code (IRIG-B/AFNOR) slave clock lines. Automaticor manual switchover of 4outputs.• U 3.5.0 MOBALine SwitchoverModuleSupervision of 2x4 MOBALine slaveclock lines. Automatic or manualswitchover of 4 outputs.• U 3.6.x Serial Switchover Module-Supervision of 2x2 (U 3.6.0) or 2x4(U 3.6.1) serial outputs RS 232/RS422. Automatic or manual switchoverof respectively 2 or 4 outputs.• U 3.7.1 Precision Frequency SupervisionMeasurement, averaging and supervisionof mains frequency (50/60Hz). Programmable limit values foralarm messages. Four serial outputsfor frequency, frequency deviation, frequency time, etc.• U 4.0.0 4x Impulse Line DriverFour impulse clock lines. Eachline may be adjusted as a minute, halfminute, 1/8 minute or secondline. Measurement and supervision ofimpulse voltage and impulse current.• U 4.1.0 4x Serial CommunicationFour serial RS 232 or RS 422 outputsof time and date information. The telegram format and transmissionparameters are freely configurable.• U 4.2.0 Time-Code-GeneratorFour audio frequency time codeoutputs, configurable as standardtime code IRIG-B, IRIG-E, AFNOR orDCFFSK. Four optocoupler outputs, selectable for DCF/DC time codeor periodical impulses. Two digitaldemodulated time code outputs (1 xIRIG-B and 1 x IRIG-E) 5 V 50 ohms.Measurement and supervision of outputsignals.• U 4.3.0 4x MOBALine DriverFour MOBALine clock lines for MO-BALine devices as self-setting clocks, computer interfaces and channel relays.Measurement and supervisionof line voltage and line current.• U 6.5.0 Communication and AlarmNetwork CANTime synchronization and supervisionof up to 16 remote master clocks(NMC, CTC, DTS 480x.masterclock)via LAN/WAN communcation.• U 9.0.0 Program Module16 free selectable signaling andswitching circuits by potential freerelay contacts.
